​Shanna D'Antonio is a mixed media artist living and working in Hammond, Louisiana. Of her intensely personal, process-driven work she writes:

 

"My mixed media artwork centers around the concept of growth and fertility, and evokes a subtle, inherent feminine sensuality that falls outside of the traditional male gaze.  My intent is to convey a beauty that is absolute female, and worthy in the ability to ripen and grow.   This work is important to me as a woman whose dual life as an artist and mother are sometimes at odds. I believe that my children benefit from observing parents with successful outside interests, and feel a special obligation to my daughter to produce work with a feminist voice."
